The vision between good vs evil was like the image above, it all looks pretty smooth and has no evil in it, but as many know, nature is one of the biggest evil powers you can imagine.
The snow desert is something nobody wants to walk in or stay alone in, it means DEATH.
The floating island has a oase form, a place where to hide when you lost yourself into the white desert. The place to go to when there is no way out.
Good vs Evil, it's something you won't think about the nature and the live what's within it..

The snow may be a beautiful thing but not all the time. The castle may be a secure thing from where you can see the landscape but you may also feel like in a prison. I think both are good and evil in their way. Everything too static is neither good and neither evil, so apart from the idea of the contest which sustain that there is a battle between good and evil there is more likely two concepts that make each other more visible at the horizon.
